KrakJam 2010 - for geeks, by geeks

Happening in over 25 countries simultaneously on 29-31 January 2010, the Global Game Jam is a global event dedicated to fostering creativity, experimentation, teamwork and rapid prototyping of video games. Don't worry - you won't be alone. On the Friday night you'll be given a theme and some restrictions, then you brainstorm possibilities, and form teams with others. Programmers, artists, musicians, designers are all welcome.

The 1st Annual Global Game Jam was held January 30-Feburary 1, 2009 to much critical acclaim and success. With over 1600 participants in 23 countries, the GGJ produced 370 games, available to download, source code included. The event was covered by countless industry and media outlets.

The 2010 Global Game Jam (GGJ) aims to be even bigger, with increased outreach to Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. Based on past survey results, 100% of those who hosted the 2009 GGJ said they would do it again.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) was founded in 2008 by IGDA to broaden the outreach of the organization while giving the world an opportunity to create games in the world's largest Game Jam to date. GGJ is a volunteer run organisation, built upon the very hard work of the leadership, site organisers and of course the participants.

KrakJam is a local edition of Global Game Jam, taking place in Cracow, Poland at AGH University. It is the first and only game jam happening in Poland, and (sadly) one of the few in Eastern and Central Europe. Main initiator and organizer of KrakJam is Hubert 'Koshmaar' Rutkowski. Student organization MediaFrame is helping. KrakJam is free for participants.
